OUGD504:Design Production - Design for Print Primary Research into Placement of Product

I wanted to make sure that I had a good understanding of where my print manual would be placed if it were to be produced for the industry. I went into the Works and took some photos of the different books and products which were available. I think that my book would fit in well within this store and would also be really fitting within independent art shops such as Colours May Vary.

The products which are stocked in the Works have very similar aims as my own - inform but be enjoyable at the same time. I found lots of different examples from book, packs and interactive game sets. I have to admit that seeing some of the options which were available in the Works have sparked some thoughts within my brief to make it more interactive by adding an aspect for my target audience to have a go at what I am trying to inform them about. I know from speaking to my target audience that this would be something which they would be interested in. The example I would probably model this on is the Paper planes box, I think it is a great little present for children and could be adapted to fit my purpose. I am however modelling my pack on commercial print which does not lend itself to DIY printing at home. I will have to look into this in more detail and iron out the kinks.
