You Are Reading

OUGD404 - Design Principles : Who are you?

As a preparatory task for this session we were asked to choose either a roman or gothic font with distinct light, regular and bold qualities, and type out the phrase 'who are you?' in four different point sizes.

I chose American Typewriter.

During this session we learnt about type hierarchy and how people read differently when a word is bigger or smaller. We tried lots of variations of the sentence using different point sizes and fonts types.
After doing this we had to vocally say each sentence which proved rather difficult.

As a group we had to listen to someone say the phrase and use out words and type styles to create their phrase.
