As a studio task we had to explore the 5 fonts we had brought into an earlier session further. We were told to identify the font family or typeface of each. This includes the different styles in which a font can be presented, Italic, Bold etc. My Fonts were, Baskerville, Britannic Bold, Courier New, Harrington and Marker Felt. Looking through font book helped me to identify the full typeface which I have displayed below.
Baskerville Typeface
Regular
Italic
Bold
Semi Bold
Bold Italic
Semi Bold Italic
Britannic Bold

Courier New

Italic

Bold Italic
Harrington

Marker Felt

Wide
After identifying the full typeface we had to explore how readable each font is. To do this we had a definition of what readability is.
Readability
Is the ease in which text can be read and understood. It is influenced by line length, primary and secondary leading, justification, type style, kerning, tracking .
Baskerville
12pt.
Lowercase
Uppercase
Baskerville in 12pt size is quite hard to read. I find the Bold font easier to understand but I don't think that the sentence is legible or readable in 12pt size, unless it was on smaller paper or part of a body copy.
32pt
72pt
Lowercase
Uppercase
Britannic Bold
Again, with Britannic Bold 12pt is the hardest to read on its own in the centre of an A4 page, although it would work well in body copy. The most readable would have to be the 72pt as it stands out but the 32pt is also readable.
