OUGD505: Design Practice 2 - Product, Range, Distribution (Oscar Moments Branding)

____

Logo:

I took inspiration from one of the Oscars brochures for my logo:

My logo:

I am creating the Oscar Moments exhibition that will be part of the Academy Museum

Mock up:

Laser cutting the brochure:

Final cuts:

Making the film reel:

I can not get the centre of the film reel to fit within the laser cut template which is very infuriating. I have tried to take the circle outlines off the centre but this does not work. I am getting closer to the deadline which means that I do not have the time re-cut the templates to fit the printed. I am going to have to photograph the work cleverly and hope that the design looks ok in photos.

Oscar Moments promotion:

I want to create a set of posters that give hints to the Oscar moments exhibition using just type.  I plan to use snippets of the speeches and also the moments from Oscar history to entice people to come to the exhibition.

Posters:

Proposals:

I chose not to print my posters for submission because they are meant to be at a large scale and A3 does not do them justice. I want my posters to carry the same prestige of the museum but also want them to make the reader curious and want to go to the event. I am very happy with the outcome of the proposals and I think the posters work really well.

By adding the name of the person who said the quote will also help me to entice fans of celebrities to the museum.
