OUGD505: Design Practice 2 - Product, Range, Distribution (Business Cards)

____

Business cards:

As I am branding the Academy Museum I figured that the museum should have a set of office stationary. One of the first things that I wanted to make was a business card. I know that the business card needs to have the most basic information such as the logo and the name of the person. I looked at the Academy Museum website a saw that Bill Kramer is the Managing Director. I created my business card for him to simply illustrate the design.

I had the front of the business card gold foiled but could not afford to have the reverse foiled. I used the printer in the studio to print onto black card and the outcome looked very professional and almost spot varnished on the photographs.

I would be happy to use any of the business cards but I think that the gold foiling fits in more with the branding of the museum.

OUGD505: Design Practice 2 - Product, Range, Distribution (Ticket)

____

I am creating a ticket for the museum to act as a momentum for museum goers. I want the ticket to mirror that of a cinema ticket stub.

This is the first design that I came up with, I like it very much because it is simple and represents what it needs to represent. I do think that cutting the design out will be very difficult at circles are hard to cut out. I wondered whether a rectangle shaped card without the circles would be better.

I came up with this design and plan to use it for my final ticket design.

For the final printed ticket I want to link to movie history and thought that I could create a golden ticket to mirror Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory. I used gold card to print my ticket and the outcome was very impressive. I managed to find gold card that was nearly the same gold as the foiling I had done by LGP so I am very happy with the final design.

I also tried to print onto antique white paper and liked the idea of some tickets being antique white for different events or for children.

I am very happy with the final outcome of my tickets and feel that they represent both the museum and the film industry perfectly.

OUGD505: Design Practice 2 - Product, Range, Distribution (Photographing)

__

Today I photographed my final outcomes for the 505 briefs 1 and 2.  I used a flash lighting kit rather than continuous lights which was not something I had done before, I think that I need to re-photograph my work for my online portfolio because the images have a pink edge to them. I have included all of the photos that I took in this post, some are very similar to others but I wanted to make sure that I came out with some professional looking photographs.
